You may have heard the word shirk. And when you hear it you might have thought that I never did shirk. Shirk is basically associating partners with Allah SWT. But it is of different forms.
Today I will be discussing the different forms of shirk with you so that you can do the analysis of yourself and check whether you are free from shirk as it a very serious issue. Shirk is a major sin which Allah will not forgive. He cannot tolerate someone associating partners with Him.
Some people think that shirk is just worshipping the idols. They are wrong in their perception. Worshipping idols is unlawful in Islam and is Haram. When these stones cannot either move or eat themselves how can they provide food and solve problems of other human beings. It is Allah the only Sustainer who provides food to human beings and all his creatures even to small ant. Idols are powerless.
If you can imagine that there were more Lords then just think for a moment they must keep on fighting and the peace of the universe would have been ruined.
You may have seen people worshipping graves. This is also the height of ignorance. How a dead person can answer your needs as he has no power for him to be live again. It’s Allah alone who is having all the powers of the Universe.
Then there are some people who obey the scholars more than Allah and Prophet PBUH. This is also wrong because for a Muslim nobody is ahead of Allah and his Prophet PBUH. A Muslims has to obey their commands above his desires.
Some people love other human beings more than Allah SWT and they obey and please them this is also a type of shirk. But many people do not consider it. No doubt they are astray.
Then there comes those people who love their desires the most. So they prefer them over Allah. This is also haraam.
It really important to keep a check on one’s intention and get to know himself and stay away from shirk or polytheism. It a grave sin and will not be forgiven. It comes in a prophetic tradition that Allah will forgive all sins except Shirk or polytheism.
May Allah save us all from all kinds of shirq. Ameen
